Insurance Breach of Contract: Cornelius v. State Farm ($76,480.15 Verdict Plus Attorneys' Fees)

Matt Schmidt and Ted Schmidt represented a young tire repairman who had his boat stolen. State Farm refused to pay the man for the loss of his boat, claiming he was committing insurance fraud. Ted and Matt took State Farm to trial at the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and received a jury verdict of $76,480.15, or every penny they asked for. In addition to the verdict, State Farm was also required to pay our firm $74,298.50 in attorneys' fees.
