The family of a motorcyclists killed in May of 2007 in Daytona Beach, Florida have been awarded $2.8 million dollars by a jury. The daughter of the 23-year-old victim receives $1 million of the verdict while the man's parents, funeral expenses and lost wages make of the rest of the judgment. The man was struck by a car after it failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist.
Kinerk, Scmidt, & Sethi recently settled its own set of motorcycle cases. One of which resulted in the death an armed forces member from Ft. Huachuca/Sierra Vista while the other resulted in pain and suffering damages for the plaintiff. Both cases involved the motorcyclists being struck by other motor vehicles who disobeyed traffic laws.
