UPDATE - 10/14/2020 - The deadline to register to vote in Arizona is 5pm on October 15th. The decision discussed below has been reversed by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. If you are not yet registered, you can visit ServiceArizona or the Arizona Secretary of State's website.

Eligible Arizona voters can now register to vote through 5pm on October 15, 2020.  Citizens who register before that date will be eligible to vote on Election Day, November 3, 3020. Judge Steven Logan granted Mi Famila Vote and Arizona Coalition for Change's request to extend the voter registration deadline by approximately  weeks. The plaintiffs sought relief arguing that the corona virus had caused a severe burden to registering new voters.

Judge Logan noted that the risk of thousands of registrants being lost to the complications caused by the virus justified the extension. And he concluded that there will be no meaningful negative impact on voting operations or public confusion.  "Voters who are already registered will not need to bother with the new deadline, and those voters that were unable to register before October 5, 2020 now have extra time," he wrote.

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) opposed the sought extension.  But says she is not appealing the ruling. Several Republican allied groups who filed friend of the court briefs have suggested they will appeal the ruling to the 9th Circuit.  But as of now, the October 23 deadline stands.
