Motor Vehicle Collision: $1,350,000 settlement
September 2017
Our client was parked in her car, waiting to pull out of a parking lot, when she was T-boned by a driver who lost control of his vehicle at upwards of 50 miles an hour. The driver claimed “sudden emergency” – that he lost control because of a surprise, unexpected medical emergency. Because we were retained quickly, we were able to start investigating immediately. That investigation uncovered a history of problems that should have alerted the driver, and his family, to the danger he posed behind the wheel of a car. The insurance company's initially denied liability, arguing the medical emergency made this crash unavoidable. This key evidence allowed us to resolve this case for the $1,350,000 insurance policy limits.
