Peloton, a leading name in the home fitness industry, has gained popularity for its interactive workout experience.
On May 11, 2023, the company announced a recall effecting 2.2 million bikes. This voluntary recall applies to Peloton original bike sold in the United States between 2018 and 2022. The impacted model is identified by its PL-01 model number on the label located inside the front fork, near the flywheel, the red "P" logo followed by the white-colored Peloton brand name on the bike's frame, and by its non-swivel display.
The reason for the recall is that the original Peloton bike seat post can break unexpectedly during use, creating potential fall and injury risk. There have been 35 reports of seat posts breaking to date and 13 reports of injuries related to the seat post failure.
Peloton is shipping bike owners a free replacement seat with installation instructions. For more information and to order your fix, click here.
